It takes two to argue.We often complain about our spouse attitude and how it gets on our nerves.But to be honest,look into the mirror and tell yourself the role you play in accepting our spouse's behaviour or trying to change what is unlikely to be changed.And ask ourselves too,if we are ready to change?

To have accepted to marry your spouse ,you must be ready to accept the whole essence of the individual being.

In marriages,people are unlikely to change no matter how much their spouse demand it,says Andrew Christensen,professor of psychology at UCLA.

Most of the things we complain about in our spouse are actually our daily life routine.For example house chores, being a critic,not actually listening when our spouse talks,not paying attention to the children collectively,not devoting attention to the marriage and lots more.

"The wanting to change our spouse may make us dislike characters that attracted us to our spouse at first" says Christensen&Jacobson.

Early in the relationship we are less concern and hardly pay attention to important character issues or we just decide to ignore these differences and live in "fantasy"that things will change or we can make our spouse change.

When we don't get the changes we want from our spouse we start comparing our spouse with others around us,slightly disliking our spouse for their differences which can lead to incompatibility among spouse.

Studies have shown that couples needs to work on major issues in the marriage such as closeness and how to use power.It is important that couples find their strengths and use it as a power tool to overcome issues in the union.
Understand the need for closeness and power to agree on a mutual level to strengthen the union.Each couples has what works for them.

But accepting our spouse character does not mean tolerating behaviour which we are not comfortable with and setting standard for our spouse.

The wise mentor in your life doesn’t have to be someone who shares the same occupation or hobbies with you. It’s simply someone who’s a few steps ahead of you in life and has enough wisdom and patience to guide you in the right direction. It can be anyone — a colleague, a friend who’s beyond their years, or an older neighbor — as long as you look up to this person and want to be more like them.

5. A Friend From a Different Culture

The last thing you want to be described as is someone who’s stuck in their own ways. If everyone had a friend from a different culture, the world would be a much better place. Being in a cross-cultural friendship allows you to explore customs, values, and traditions outside of your own culture. Sometimes you might even adopt new ways to do things.

Be careful; don’t befriend someone just because they’re from a different culture. No one likes to be a token friend. Instead, keep your mind open, and if you come across someone you click with who just so happens to be from a different culture, make the effort to learn about their customs, values, and traditions while getting to know the person on a personal level.

6. A Polar Opposite

We humans are hard-wired to get together in groups and attack outsiders —the human pack mentality, if you will. If you only develop friendships with others who follow the same beliefs, customs, and values as you do, chances are you’re somewhat detached from the rest of the world, and you’re more likely to perpetuate stereotypes on anyone who holds a different world view from you.

Instead of constantly surrounding yourself with like-minded people, try to break out of your comfort zone and befriend people who hold opposing views. They will help open your eyes to different world views and you’ll learn to accept people who don’t see the world exactly the way you see it.

7. A Friendly Neighbor

These days, a lot of people don’t know their own neighbors. It’s a shame, because some neighbors can be the nicest and most helpful people ever. If you’re on a vacation, and you suddenly realize that you forgot to lock the front door, you can call up your trusty ol’ neighbor and ask them to head over to your house and lock it for you. Nice dependable neighbors who have each other’s backs are a dying breed, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t introduce yourself to the new neighbors across the street!

8. A Work Pal

Did you know that with a full-time job, you spend at least 50% of your waking hours at work? Not only that, but you spend some more time commuting to work, thinking about work, working overtime, and furthering your career on your personal time. Depressing, isn’t it?

Statistics show that the more isolated you are at work, the more depressed you get. That’s why it makes sense to get a work pal to chat with at the water cooler and to help you get through the week. You spend 50% of your waking hours at work, and so does your work pal. You’ll find it much easier to shoot the breeze and complain about work with someone who can relate to you than eating lunch alone every day.

Your work pal doesn’t have to be your best friend outside of work. They just need to be someone you click with on some level, and if you two hit it off exceptionally well, you can always start hanging out with them outside of the office.

10 tips for smart back-to-school shopping

The best strategy for back-to-school shopping? Get organized, stock up on the basics, and look for sales and promotions.

Start your back-to-school shopping with a game plan. Even if your child's teacher hasn't provided a list of school supplies, you can't go wrong by sticking with the basics and taking advantage of back-to-school sales (many states offer “tax-free days” during this season). Here's how:

Make a list and get your child involved.

Use the recommended or required supplies from your child's school or teacher as a starting point. If you don't have a list yet, check with parents at your school who have older kids. They might have good advice about what is required in your child's grade. Or check our recommendations for elementary, middle, and high school. Sit down with your child and go over your list together. You'll be teaching her how to get organized, a skill that applies to more than shopping.

Separate wants from needs.

Most school supplies don't go out of style, and your child will happily use the unsharpened pencils his older sister didn't use. But as any parent with last year's superhero notebook knows, beware the power of trends. Rather than getting into an argument with your older child about whether a backpack with headphones is essential because "everybody is getting one," try setting a budget for supplies. It will help your child set priorities, learn how to manage money, and start saving his allowance for the items your budget won't allow.

A note from the teacher: You'll be doing your child's teacher a favor if you stick to supplies without gimmicks. Pencil sharpeners that light up are distractions in class, says Jane Ann Robertson, Arizona's 2004 Teacher of the Year and a GreatSchools consultant. "Keep supplies to the necessary and useful versus fancy and fun."

Take inventory.

Sort through last year's supplies to see what is left over or can be reused. (Having trouble finding last year's stuff? Resolve to set up a place to keep your school supplies together this year.)

Start early and look for bargains throughout the summer.

The best bargains are often available at back-to-school sales. Keeping your supply list in your car or purse or on your PDA will help you shop for supplies as you do your other errands.

Buy basics in bulk.

You know you'll need paper, pencils, glue sticks and notebooks. Dollar stores, warehouse stores and even eBay are sources for buying these and other basics in bulk. You and a group of other parents might be able to negotiate a group discount from an office supply store.

Then set up a supply shelf or storage container in your home that you can use all year long. You'll be able to avoid late-night shopping trips to buy notebook paper when you run out. And you'll know where to find unused notebooks and pencils when it comes time to shop for back-to-school supplies next year.

If you set up this storage area near the place your child will do homework, you'll be modeling good organizational skills and he'll have what he needs nearby.

Sometimes our husbands feel jealous or left out in the fun and don't usually get our attention as much as they want.As mothers and wives we are so busy juggling in between our career and our roles at home and also aspiring to have a loving and lasting marriage.We tend to forget our husbands...our first baby (winking).

Last time l checked men.....husbands crave for our attention and when they don't get what they want they seek it elsewhere to satisfy the gap we created ourselves.

Do you push your husband needs to the bottom of the list and place your kids,friends,family and career top above him?
Here are some things we can try out to treat our husbands like a man and make him feel wanted.

*Attend to his request: Small needs we think is irrelevant might matter alot to your husband and make him feel good when attended to.

*Seek and Respect his Advice: Involve your husband in decision making,seek his opinion and don't undermine his contributions especially towards the upbringing of the children.Instead of disagreeing with his decisions learn ways to bring up your concerns without being critical.

*Feel proud and comfortable with your husband in the presence of other people.

*Express and Appreciate his and your love/care verbally and non verbally:Acknowledge his care and support by saying "Thank you" "l care" or "l love you" in whatever form you like.Also express these feelings non verbally too.Studies have shown that a large percent of communication is through non verbal communication.Use body language such touching,facial expression,tone of our voice and body movement.

*Be Active and Believe in  your husband's career: Be ready to listen to fears,difficulties and achievement in his place of work.This helps to  boost their self -esteem,makes them feel important when you support their struggles.Encouraging them to purse their dreams,celebrate them when they make a success and assure them when things don't go right.

*Don't Prolong ConflictThe best outcome of conflict is the strengthening of our relationship. Admit it when your are wrong or wronged by your husband.No successful marriage is conflict free so don't deny your husband his needs when there is some misunderstandings.Don't create that gap yourself.

*How secure and safe is your school?Have trained staffs or retrain your staff on how to keep the school secured from security and health threats.With the Ebola virus outbreak,schools should put in place measures that can curb the virus from spreading.such as purchasing a temperate scanner,lots of hand sanitizers,toilet washers and make sure everyone washes hands regularly.

*Does your staff know the schools vision and missions.from the lowest staff to the highest rank staff should clearly know what the vision and missions of the school and understand why they need to represent the school goals towards achieving a great school.

*What do you expect of your pupils/students.ln great schools every child is believed to have great potentials to become a successful child.This entails giving every child the opportunity to get involved in the class,ask for feedback and always willing to re-teach aspects not clearly mastered by the children.Dishing out encouraging comments that boost the self esteem and confidence of the students.

*Conduct frequent evaluation.Regular evaluation of student performance keeps both the student and teacher abreast of the performance level of the child.Thereby making the students studious and a yardstick for searching for ways of improving the student.

Headphone -ear buds playing music and noise-canceling.
The headphone has it's advantages and disadvantages depending on how,where and when we use it.

Studies have shown that listening to music motivates people to work and also helps drives productivity depending on the kind of job.
It is also a means of distracting unwanted interruptions in places of work and providing a personal work environment.

According to another research published in the journal injury prevention.Pedestrians who wear headphones while walking are at greater risk of serious injury or even death than people who don't.

Another research shows that about 29% of cases,victims who were hit by cars apparently failed to hear the warning sounds of horns and sirens.

With these informations  publicly known by people on major causes of road  accidents is the use of headphones.lt is a great wonder why we still have people going about our streets with headphones on their heads even in busy areas where we have lots of fast moving cars.

While cooking dinner a wonderful idea  spring up to me on how to make my dreams come true and l was like this is it.It was one of those special ideas that just pop up from nowhere and you just have that feeling of its signed and sealed from heaven.l dashed out of the kitchen with a lightening speed to jot down my divine thoughts.
