Little Things Counts.

It is so sad and a pity at the little things that will aid our children's development and exposure, how we tend to ignore and don't take advantage of it as parents to encourage learning of our children.
Here are some things l feel we tend to neglect and has great influence on our kids. This is because lots of kids learn new things in different ways and "all work no play makes Jack a dull boy.


1.Story Books,Games,and Colouring Books:I had a chat with a friend who owns a bookshop on the patronage of novels and story books and she lamented on how parents used to come over and buy books worth thousands of naira for themselves and fail to buy for their kids .she said sometimes they buy just few books after their children must have asked several times.this is to show how much we have neglected little things that can aid their learning.


2.Most people believe it is waste of money to invest in toys for the kids. Forgetting that there are many educative toys out there that can teach kids lots of beneficial things such as the letters sounds and number especially for children in the early years.



3.Educational CDS: Encouraging kids to watch educational cds such as Barney,Dora ,Mickey Mouse Club House,Leap Frog series and so much more where kids can make learn lots of things such as different types of animals, names of places,letters,rhymes,simple manners, sounds,numbers,phonics sounds and lots more.


4.Things we say :some people hardly ever say thank you or l am sorry this makes me remember this beautiful song
"There are five magic words that I know -please ,excuse me,thank you ,sorry and the last one pardon me" these words are so important in the lives of every individual. When we say these words to the kids hearing all the time it becomes part of them. People who have learnt to say these words are always regarded as well mannered and cultured individuals.


5.Outings: Kids should be allowed to tag along for outings with their parents sometimes. This expose the kids to some other aspects of our society such as weddings ,birthdays,graduation and even some functions which makes the kids have a picture of what lays ahead of them.



6.It is very important and also part of the culture to greet people around you especially the elderly ones. Greetings shows how well trained and mannered an individual is and showcase our cultural heritage.
