I don't have much interest in football but has a patriot Nigerian I decided to watch Nigerian-Iran match and l got so disappointed in our their dear team as they portrayed a complete lack of skill.
The match made me understand the essence of exhibiting professionalism when need be and the need for a leader to have foresight, preempt obstacles and proffer solutions with prompt approach.
The Nigerian team failed to mastermind a plan and score lots and lots of goals. It was just unfortunate that as usual we didn't show any creativity and skills in playing with the iranian team. It's just a simple thing of understanding that the iranian team were very tall and what we needed was to throw them off balance by using low passes and direct play of the ball.
As a leader the coach should have understood that he made a huge mistake in starting the game with such tactics and less performing players and leaving the ones with zeal at the tail end.It was obvious that the formation of 4 2 3 1 was not in favor of the Nigerian team. And that is why I really appreciate the effort Ozazi Odenwige made in playing a vibrant game and the goal keeper Enyima in saving the team from a lot of scored goals.
In my opinion this calls for a back to the drawing table and re strategizing for the upcoming matches with Argentina and Bosnia and that is if we are ready to accept that we performed poorly. We need to study, mastermind tactics,do our best and hope for a better game next time.
Lessons learned from the match was to always put up our best and never procrastinate that we will do our best in the next level.Lessons we should all apply in our daily routines.
BRING BACK OUR GOALS!!!
