Whoa! its independence day.
So,what event did you attend today?
Did you put on green, white, green outfit today?
Was it eventful day for you?
Nafi's random musings had an eventful day today.....
Read about the enlightenment l had today.
ARE YOU A 21st CENTURY PARENT?
"The ruin of a nation begins in the homes of it's people"
Ghanaian proverb
Today l decided l wanted to spend my independent day attending a seminar to add value which was tagged "The 21st century parenting" because l passionately believe in being a better parent to produce a super child who will eventually become a great leader of tomorrow.
The event was power packed with speakers who have authority in parenting.
And this is why l have this important message to every parents nationwide this independent day.
My independent day message......
Clarion call to parents.
Wake up parents.
Wake up to your responsibilities.
Let's bring up our child in the way of the Lord so that when they grow up they don't depart from it.
A superstar child is not born but is raised.
As l write this article l remember this words
"It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men"
Fredrick Douglas
And that is why we need to take into account how serious we take our parenting role.We want a greater nation,a super leader and God fearing youths
Yes,we all want all these.....
But what role have we played as a parent in making our children all these.
Zig Ziglar says "If you live by example you make few rules"
QUESTIONS:
Do we leave our children to themselves?
Do we communicate to our children?
Do we influence our children?
Do we inspire our children?
Do we dedicate time to them?
Do we understand their personality?
These and more questions keep throbbing in head.
So l say to myself ...l must intentionally decide to make this nation a greater nation by making my home a successful one first.By being a responsible parent to create a better youth and therefore great leaders of tomorrow.
Should every parent make this clarion call and work towards it.
Then we are assured of a better tomorrow in the hands of our children.
"To build strong children we cannot always build the future for our youth, but we can build our youth for the future"
"Franklin Delano Roosevelt
Happy independence day by being a 21st century parent.
