Cough Etiquette

Parents needs to teach their kids cough etiquette to prevent germs from spreading. Most times we cover our mouths with our hands when we or they kids cough, which is very wrong.

According to Paediatrics,it is safer and advisable to teach our young ones coughing etiquette when they are sick. This act involves teaching children to turn their heads and cough or sneeze into a disposable tissue or handkerchief.

Coughing or sneezing into the hands means putting the germs into the hands and thereby spreading the germs into whatever we touch, such as other person's hand, toys, spoons etc. Thereby, spreading germs to those exposed to these contaminated surfaces.

To prevent infections, parents must wash hands regularly and also encourage the kids too, especially after coughing, sneezing, using the toilet, changing diaper and lots more. This is to prevent infections, spread of infections and to keep the hands clean.

Others ways of preventing infection to spread among kids is to frequently wash toys and objects kids play with especially when they catch the bug. Avoiding close contact with other people who are sick and most importantly enough rest for kids coughing or sneezing.
